There’s nothing worse that picking someone for a project (in any industry) and they end up being difficult to work with or just not clear enough; just because they know how it works inside out, doesn’t mean you do. We’re all consumers, so I’ve been there myself and know it can be annoying.

So my goal is to make the process as clear and straightforward for you if you’re new to working with voiceovers, and if you’re not, then I hope to show you that working with me is a stress free experience!

Here’s how it works from start to finish:

Step 1: Get In Touch with me

You can reach out via my contact form, by Emailing me at michael@manchestervo.co.uk or you can just go straight to the phone and call me on +44 7517 577 463.

Just tell me a bit about your project such as what it’s for, who it’s aimed at, and when you need it recorded by (and if its urgent dont worry about saying so, If i can meet your urgent deadline I will, there’s no charge for anything like that).

I’m pretty swift with replies too, so unless I’m in a session at that moment, expect a reply within an hour or so, if not sooner.

Step 2: Quoting and Demo

I’ll ask for a few simple details:

• Script length or word count
• Usage (e.g. internal, web, broadcast)
• Confirmed turnaround time
• Preferred style or tone. If you’ve also heard a piece of my work you liked then let me know as that will be a good reference guide, but if you’re not sure don’t worry, we can discuss ideas for the tone.

Once I have those, I’ll give you a clear upfront quote with no hidden fees. I’m always happy to offer options if you’re working within a set budget and I’ll record a demo of your script for you too if you need it.

Step 3: Voiceover Delivery

Once we agree on terms, you send me your confirmed and signed off script.

From here i’ll:

• Record the audio from my broadcast quality home studio
• Deliver the file in your preferred format (usually WAV or MP3)
• Unless you request raw files, i’ll deliver your audio with breaths taken out but I generally don’t do any EQ unless requested.

Step 4: Revisions (if needed)

Small pickups due to tone or pacing tweaks? No problem, I include two rounds of revisions in every quote. My goal is to make sure you’re 100% happy with the final result. Any little minor tweaks you need to make to your script, such as a word or short sentence I provide free of charge aswell.

Please be aware that in the unlikely event you rewrite your script and need a new one recording after the original script was signed off and recorded, this large edit will incur a small re-record fee which will be calculated based on the size of the change.

Step 5: Final Delivery & Support

Once the job’s done, I’ll send over the final files and an invoice. If you ever need updates or alternate versions in the future (i.e. for different regions or platforms), just drop me a message, I keep everything archived and easy to retrieve.
